Included in this program of short films from the amazing Unseen Cinema: Early American Avant-Garde Films 1894–1941 collection are: ANÉMIC CINÉMA (1924-26, Marcel Duchamp); PAS DE DEUX from the Fox Movietone Looney Lens series (1924, Al Brick); Four Slavko Vokapich sequences filmed for various features—Skyline Dance for Dorothy Arzner's 1928 MANHATTAN COCKTAIL, The Money Machine for Roland Lee and Victor Milner's 1929 THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, Prohibition for Ludwig Berger and Victor Milner's 1928 SINS OF THE FATHER, and The Furies for Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's 1934 CRIME WITHOUT PASSION; A BRONX MORNING (1931, Jay Leyda); THE LIFE AND DEATH OF 9413—A HOLLYWOOD EXTRA (1927, Robert Florey); HÄNDE (1927, Mikos Bandy and Stella F. Simon); and 1931 Mexican footage by Sergei Eisenstein. The program runs approximately 70 minutes and will be accompanied live by the Matti Bye Ensemble.
