Considered one of the leading silent film accompanists, Stephen Horne is based at London’s BFI Southbank and plays at all the major UK venues, including the Barbican Centre and the Imperial War Museum. Although principally a pianist, he often incorporates other instruments into his performances, sometimes playing them simultaneously. He has recorded music for DVD releases and television broadcasts of silent films and regularly performs internationally. In recent years, his accompaniments have met with acclaim at film festivals in Pordenone, Telluride, Cannes, Hong Kong, Morocco, Bologna, and Berlin. This year marks Horne’s eleventh year playing at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival.
will perform at SFSFF 2018, coming May 30–June 3 to the Castro Theatre, San Francisco
